For those of you unfamiliar with what I did in the past, for 20 plus years I worked in finance, the bulk of it as a Financial Planner with RBC. Making the decision to go back to school and study Homeopathy with the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine was not one I entered lightly. The art of medicine, anatomy and pathology were not subjects I had ever considered studying.
At the time of this “crazy” school decision, I was already a few years into discovering the world of functional medicine and alternative health on a surface level as I navigated around some health issues that were starting to crop up for me. I was not getting anywhere fast with my allopathic doctors and was becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of assistance and support I was receiving. I was also watching close friends and family members struggle with the same nonsense. I was sick and tired of hearing the same ‘non-answers’ from the doctors I was raised my entire life to blindly trust.
Thus began my quest to immerse myself in learning everything I could about alternative health. I read every book I could get my hands on, and started an enlightening journey with a myriad of alternative health treatments and modalities. I've written a lot about my initial journey into wellness and many of those alternative health treatments. Each one taught me something and informed my understanding of whole health.
One of the most important things I learnt is that we ultimately control our own destiny when it comes to our health. The sentiment that it is genetics, or simply the aging process does not resonate with me. We may have a genetic “weakness” but something has to turn on the switch. We can begin to advocate for our own health and not accept a doctor’s blanket opinion as finite.
The more knowledge I gained, the more clarity I found around the important and even critical role of Homeopathy.
It is the 2nd most widely practiced medicine in the world, based on concepts that Hippocrates himself discovered, and it has been being actively practiced (with incredible and well documented success!) for over 240 years.
" In homeopathic medicine, we give value to every single aspect of the human being. We look at everything that a person is suffering from at all those levels, and then we try to find out what is the common link between the different symptoms of the patient. We then look to identify something in nature that is the cure to that one common thing."
Homeopathy looks at the totality of a patient. It evaluates each aspect of our wellness: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual. Essentially, a Homeopath brings together all of the information about a patient that other modalities are looking at in isolation. The more I began to understand this, the more the light bulbs went off and I was driven to study it further.
Fast forward a bit and I am now in the 3rd and final year of my studies. While I can easily state that studying the complex world of homeopathy (…and nutrition…and anatomy…and pathology) has been a steep learning curve, I can also state that it has been the most fascinating and eye-opening experience of my life. I continue to be regularly blown away by the power of Homeopathy and am excited every single day both steeping myself in knowledge, and sharing what I am learning.
My quest in learning as much as I can about alternative health modalities and therapies is to be able to share as many natural healing modalities as I can. The goal is to facilitate self-advocacy by creating an interactive wellness community that provides a wide range of wellness options. Support, shared experience and learning from each other's unique wellness journey is fundamental to self-advocacy.
With that in mind, throughout my Homeopathy education, I'm sharing what I'm learning along the way. The impact it is having on me, my friends and family, and the patients I'm seeing within the CCHM teaching clinic, is profound. Seeing that impact in action only fuels my passion further.
But I also want to hear from you! I would love to create a forum within this community where we can ALL share what is working (and what isn’t) in our individual health and wellness journeys. Not everyone has the same access to specific health practitioners whether due to location or financial means, but how wonderful it would be to have a place to come and read testimonials, tips, and suggestions from others. If you want to share your journey to wellness and what has worked (or not worked) for you, please click here and share your story! I can’t wait to hear from you.
]]>A symptom is observable or felt changes in the physical, emotional, or mental condition of a person that limits their optimal health. Homeopaths believe that symptoms represent the efforts of the organism to deal with an internal or external stress. Symptoms do not exist in isolation but are a reflection of how the whole person is coping with that stress.
The homeopath looks at the whole person to determine their unique symptoms, and tailors the medicine to match those symptoms.
In allopathic medicine, the focus is just on the disease or the symptom. Let's look at the example of eczema. When you go to the doctor with this symptom, the physician would look at the eczema and prescribe based on the symptom eczema. In homeopathy, the homeopathic physician wants to understand the whole person. Homeopaths understand that symptoms are adaptive as the body will adapt to a stress that is brought onto it. Symptoms are NOT the disease. They simply accompany the disease. Symptoms are just the body’s natural way to try to heal itself. Symptoms are the ONLY tool the body has to alert us to the fact that something is off kilter. By treating only the symptom, we are killing the messenger.
Individuals are unique, and as such have different strengths and weaknesses which affect the way disease manifests for them. We all have a distinct mental, emotional, and physical makeup which is determined by hereditary tendencies, environmental influences and factors of disease.
A homeopath’s role in getting to know the whole person is to find the medicine that is most similar to both the person, and the person’s totality of symptoms. Homeopaths look at the onset or cause of the symptoms (what was the person doing before they caught a cold, or fever, or did it come on suddenly) where is the location of the symptom (where on the head is the headache, left side, right side, back of head, behind the eyes) what does the sensation or pain feel like (throbbing, stabbing, burning) are there any discharges and what are they like (green, yellow, clear, thick, stringy etc.) what makes the symptom feel better or worse (cold compress, open window, warm compress, drinking cold water, eating, sleeping) what the emotional state is like (weepy, irritable, angry). A homeopath also looks at what time of the day a symptom comes on, if weather or a specific season makes symptoms better or worse, energy levels (are they better or worse with rest etc.) are there any cravings or aversions and general body temperature.
Symptoms are wisdom. It is important we listen to them. Take note of your symptoms and rather than suppressing them, consider what lifestyle choices you are currently making that could be causing your body to show symptoms.
Is it:
Take a look at these first and you may be surprised at how positively your body responds!

I get asked a lot what the difference is between tissue salts and homeopathic remedies. Both are considered homeopathic treatments, but they operate in the body differently. So let's look at the differences and how each uniquely support healing.
A homeopathic remedy is a substance that stimulates the body to heal itself by matching it to the frequency of the disease. A remedy is based on the Law of Similars (“like cures like”). This means that if a substance can produce a totality of symptoms in a healthy human being, that same substance can also cure the same totality of symptoms in a sick human being.
Homeopathic remedies are derived from all kingdoms:
Derived from the mineral kingdom only, tissue salts work differently. I like to think of tissue salts as the supplements of homeopathic medicine. Tissue salts (also known as cell salts), are based on the Law of Deficiency and they were discovered in the late 19th century when Dr. Schuessler examined human ash.
Dr. Schuessler determined that the human body contains twelve essential mineral salts that form the bodies building blocks and are a vital part of every cell in the body.
Tissue salts are cellular nutrition and they reinforce, strengthen, and nourish the body at a cellular level by satisfying a deficiency. Symptoms that arise when the body is out of balance allow us to determine where the deficiency lies. A normal balance can quickly be restored by administering the deficient mineral salts in a homoeopathically prepared micro dose that is fully bio available, entering our cells rapidly through the mucous membranes.
Here's what The School Of Homeopathy has to say about cell salts:
"These remedies are called cell salts, because they rebalance the functioning of the body at the level of the cell. The support the body to create health beginning at this very basic level. The potency of cell salts is always a 6X or 12X (also known as 6D or 12D). This is a potency at which the final product is below Avogadro’s number, so there are trace molecules of the original substance left. This is why it is often thought of as micro-dosing of minerals. In some ways, this can be thought of as a basic, building block potency, to match the targeted level of reception – the cell, or the basic, building block of our physical structure. These same 12 remedies are available in higher potencies, at which point we refer to them as homeopathic remedies rather than cell salts. "
Homeopathic remedies and tissue salts complement one another. While remedies act deeper to address root imbalances, cell salts can be taken to support its action and address surface imbalances.
Both are an important part of health restoration.

Homeopathy is based on the Law of Similars vs. the Law of Opposites and is based on scientific observation and the utilizing the body’s ability to heal.
Homeopathy was developed in the nineteenth century by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann and according to William A. Tiller in the foreword of The Science of Homeopathy, "homeopathy and allopathy originally walked hand in hand to serve the health needs of humankind". (1) By the twentieth century, approximately twenty-five percent of the physicians in the United States were homeopaths. One might say that ultimately it was the emphasis on disease rather than on health that divided these two practices. (2)
Homeopathy, the medicine of energy, is a medical system based on the belief that the body can cure itself by strengthening its own defense mechanisms by using substances selected for their energy-giving properties. Homeopaths use tiny amounts of natural substances, like plants, herbs, minerals, chemicals, disease products or allopathic drugs which are potentized.[3]
Hahnemann believed in the Law of Similars, in other words, that like cures like. The Law of Similars is based on the belief system that something that brings on symptoms in a healthy person, can, in very small doses, treat an illness with similar symptoms. In its diluted form, the homeopathic remedy is meant to trigger the body’s natural defenses. This is quite different from traditional (allopathic) medicine, in which symptoms are treated with toxic drugs which weaken the body and supress symptoms versus curing them. Homeopaths believe that symptoms, or groups of symptoms, are not the problem, but are signals that the body is not working optimally. Symptoms are an attempt by the body to heal itself, and a small amount of a homeopathic remedy can provide the body with what it needs to complete the healing process.
For example, chopping red onion causes burning, watering eyes, a runny nose and perhaps a tickle in the back of the throat. These same symptoms are produced with a cold or hay fever. The homeopathic preparation of the red onion (Allium cepa) is used in homeopathic remedies for colds or allergies as it is believed that the substance that CAUSES a symptom can also ASSIST in its cure.
In another example, the calendula flower in minute quantities can be used to treat skin irritations and infections. However, in large quantities it will bring on a rash or skin irritation. Similarly, sulphur in large quantities will cause skin irritations, abscesses, skin eruptions, and can cause bronchitis, but as a homeopathic remedy, it has a curative effect and used to treat these same symptoms. Again, like cures like.
The relationship between a homeopath and their patient is one of great trust. The homeopath completes an in-depth interview, or series of interviews, with the patient where the homeopath “takes the case” compiling a great deal of notes. This is one of the most important facets of homeopathic medicine, as in order to properly prescribe a remedy, the homeopath must look at the totality of the symptoms on all three levels of the human being: mental/spiritual, emotional/psychic, and physical.
A homeopath’s job is to look at the evolution of the present pathological state of the patient. [4] Did the patient have any emotional or mental shocks in their life, any major illnesses, medical treatments from the use of drug treatments, antibiotic, birth control, or cortisone use? The homeopath also wants to understand the patient’s family history, quality of sleep, appetite, thirst, food cravings, food aversions, bodily functions, energy levels, mental well-being, tolerance to temperature, weather changes, sun, drafts etc. The homeopath also records a physical description of the patient, including demeanor, gestures, posture, weight, height, and reviews any laboratory or radiological data. As you can see, the science of homeopathy is one where the physician wants to deeply understand the patient in order to find the most appropriate remedy that may lead to a cure.
Today, there is a growing awareness as more and more people turn to health and wellness. Many are tired of feeling sick and unwell and are embracing ancient and alternative modes of medicine and therapies to help them heal. Although allopathic medicine has done a great job in dealing with acute illness, the current crisis of crippling chronic disease where treatment is limited to palliative rather than curative treatment is why so many are seeking alternatives.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if medical doctors took into account the natural mechanism of healing, rather than the primary focus being one of disease? George Vithoulkas in The Science of Homeopathy states that “the value of allopathic methods will never be lost. Such fields as emergency medicine, surgery, orthopedics, and obstetrics will always be needed, as well as a measure of palliative allopathic treatment, but the context of allopathic medicine would be placed in a more appropriate perspective.” [5] There will always be a place for conventional/allopathic medicine, but why not also embrace the medicine of homeopathy to help heal our acute and chronic illnesses and disease and alleviate for some, a lifetime of needless pain and suffering?
Hopefully in time, holistic therapies such as homeopathy will continue to be embraced, the ancient remedies that nature herself has provided recognized as a natural way to promote healing. The future would certainly be bright if we lived in an era in which allopathic medicine and homeopathic medicine could once again walk hand in hand to serve humankind.

]]>Paracelsus, a 16th century philosopher and physician was quoted as saying “those who merely study and treat the effects of disease are like those who imagine that they can drive away the winter by brushing the snow from the door. It is not the snow that causes winter, but the winter that causes the snow”.
This reflects one of the most basic principles of homeopathy in that all symptoms of illness are merely expressions of imbalance and disharmony within the whole person – that it is the PATIENT that needs the treatment, NOT the disease.

What does vitality mean to you?
In Homeopathy, we call vitality the vital force (or life force) and it is this vitality that provides a patients inner strength, that ultimately empowers their immune system. When the vital force is weakened this is what leads to illness and disease.
Day in and day out, our emotional and environmental conditions should support and complement one another but when this is disrupted (whether by exposure to viruses, bacteria, toxins, radiation, emotional shock, environmental changes or treatment with allopathic drugs), this is when things can go awry. The vital force kicks in with a variety of signs and symptoms to restore the individual to health.
Signs and Symptoms of illness are attempts on the part of the body’s immune system trying to restore balance to heal itself. This is the ONLY tool the body has to alert us to the fact that something is off kilter. And when the vital force is weak, it is difficult for the body to restore itself to health.
Individuals are unique, and as such have different strengths and weakness which affect the way disease manifests for them. Everyone has a distinct mental, emotional and physical makeup which is determined by hereditary tendencies, environmental influences and factors of disease.
This is why I love homeopathy so much as the homeopath’s role is to work within the natural order of the body to create harmony by strengthening the body’s OWN immune and defence systems to bring back its vitality, ultimately restoring the body to order.

When it comes to medicine and healing, our ancestors have used modalities like Homeopathy and Chinese medicine throughout history with great success.
So why is it, (in North America specifically) that we have become conditioned to see allopathic medicine as the first line of defence? Would you be surprised to know that Homeopathy is the second most practiced form of medicine in the world? Right behind Chinese medicine.
Today I’m sharing some thoughts and insights on this phenomena. If you find yourself hitting a wall with allopathic medicine, maybe it’s a good time to explore homeopathy.
]]>
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
I was. And this is what led me to begin exploring more holistic ways to heal.
Did you know that in 2020 51.8% of adults had one chronic disease and 27.2% had multiple chronic conditions. This is terrifying for our families, our health care system and society as a whole.
When my health journey (after many twists and turns) led me to to homeopathy, I realized that I had finally found the pinnacle of healing.
How does homeopathy differ from allopathic medicine? It is not a one size fits all medicine. Each patient is unique and comes with their own set of symptoms. Two people experiencing a migraine, don’t feel them the same way. One may have shooting pains, one throbbing pains, one stabbing pains. One may prefer to use a cold compress to alleviate discomfort, another may prefer warmth. One may prefer to be covered in warm blankets, another may prefer cold air. One may feel irritable, another sad. If people manifest illness and disease differently, then doesn’t it make sense to treat the patient instead of the illness or disease?
When the underlying objective is to treat the patient as a whole, we can hope for a cure versus the suppression of a symptom. Aspirin may be effective at relieving the pain of a migraine, but it cannot be claimed as a cure when the patient who suffers from migraines typically has them frequently. In another example, antihistamines only stop the release of histamines, but do not cure the allergies. And at what cost? What side effects will the patient have to endure for this short period of relief. A homeopath isn't looking to simply desensitize the patient just to the specific allergen, but to all allergens.
Homeopathy is powerful medicine, and I am extremely passionate about spreading awareness. Questions or comments? Please send me a note and I would be happy to respond!
We find Calcium Fluoride, also known as Calc Fluor, in our connective tissue, our bones, blood vessels, muscular tissue, vein walls, tendons, the lymphatic system, tooth enamel and it is what gives our tissues elasticity. When veins or arteries lose their elasticity we end up with a relaxed condition of muscular tissue such as varicose veins and falling of the womb.
A lack of this salt could also cause:
With a Calc Fluor deficiency the tongue could be hard and cracked, with inflammation and/or swelling that may or may not be painful. Some other deficiency symptoms are cracked lips, cracks in the skin (palms of hands) and between the toes, loose teeth, translucent teeth, brittle, splitting or soft nails, elongation of the uvula, constipation, increased quantity of urine, bleeding hemorrhoids, anal fissures, excessive menses with hemorrhaging and bearing down pains, pain in lower part of the back, and hangnails.
Some facial signs of a Calc Fluor deficiency are fan shaped crows feet, blue lips, brown/black undertones to the skin, small white scales often found on the upper eyelid, cracked lips and translucent tips of teeth. (1)
Foods that are rich in Calc Fluor are whole grain foods, dairy, raw vegetables, soybeans, sesame seeds, spinach, broccoli and mushrooms.
In a chronic condition, such as varicose veins, uterine prolapse, loose teeth, cataracts, hemorrhoids, osteoporosis, etc. you would take 2-3 tablets, 2-3x per day for 5 weeks, or you can even finish the full bottle. Taking little breaks is important so the body does not develop a tolerance. In this situation, you would take the tissue salt either for five days on with two days off, or for three weeks on with one week off over many months.
When taking tissue salts, tip the tablets into the lid and drop them into your mouth. Avoid touching the cap to your mouth. It is also important to try to avoid food for 10-20 mins before and after taking the salts, and take away from coffee or mint products as it will not be properly absorbed.
It is important to always let your symptoms guide you, and if you experience any side effect or worsening of symptoms then stop taking them. As your symptoms improve – take less often.

]]>Calcium Phosphate, also known as Calc Phos, is a bone builder and is essential in the formation of bone and teeth. Without Calc Phos, no bone can be made. Calc Phos also promotes healthy cellular activity and restores tone to weakened organs and tissues.
When there is a Calc Phos deficiency, bone cells are not built as fast as they die and many disease processes begin in the body. Conditions such as rheumatism can sometimes be a due to a deficiency of this salt, and because Calc Phos is found in gastric juice a deficiency is frequently the cause of indigestion. Kidney disease (Brights disease) could also indicate a Calc Phos deficiency.
Some deficiency symptoms are muscles that are sensitive to cold, growing pains, slow healing fractures, anemia, digestive problems, slow dentition, white marks on fingernails and teeth, and teeth with translucent tips. Some disease conditions are problems with bones, weak ankles, teething problems, osteoporosis, spina bifida, stiff neck and rickets.
Some facial signs of a Calc Phos deficiency are a waxy appearance on areas of the face such as the nose, ears, inner eyelid, or a waxy appearance to the skin. Often the appearance of stretched cheekbones is another sign of deficiency - that hard-bitten look. Small lips is another sign of a deficiency as is having a creamy-white look to the skin. (1)
Things that make your symptoms feel better or worse are a good way to determine if this salt is the one for you. With a Calc Phos deficiency symptoms are generally worse at night, in damp cold weather or upon getting wet, and are better in warm weather and in a warm room.
In an acute situation that is severe such as a headache, rheumatic pains, cough with clear/thick mucus, diarrea in teething children, etc., as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 30-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside. You can give children 1-2 tablets and infants 1 tablet.
Repeat according to the severity of the symptoms. Stop on improvement. Repeat as needed.
You can also take tissue salts to treat chronic conditions. Calc Sulph is helpful with:
Calc Sulph will prevent a sore throat from developing and cut short a threatening cold (see alsoTissue Salt #4: Ferr Phos).
Calc Sulph helps drain wounds and abscesses, and helps cysts and boils that are slow to resolve from becoming septic.
A lack of this salt in the body allows the discharge of pus from an infection to continue too long. As such, it is useful during the 3rd stage of mucous congestion, lung troubles, boils, ulcers or abscesses. This one works well after Silica as Silica pushes out the mucous or pus, and Calc Sulph closes up the process.

]]>As we have been in the midst of cold and flu season for quite some time now, I wanted to start off my series on tissue salts with one of my faves - Ferrum Phosphoricum also known as Ferrum Phosphate or Ferr Phos.
Ferr Phos is the phosphate of iron, and it carries oxygen to all parts of the body. Think of it as the oxygen-carrier. It takes up oxygen from the air inhaled by the lungs and carries it in the blood stream to all parts of the body. oxygen carriers are deficient, circulation is increased to move oxygen to the extremities, but when this happens the quantity of iron is diminished. This increase to the rate of the motion of blood heats up the body, raising one's temperature causing fever. All across history, from Hippocrates to Koch, it was understood that it is not simply heat that causes distress in a fever patient, but it is the lack of oxygen in the blood due to a deficiency of iron, the carrier of oxygen.
Ferr Phos is the tissue salt you want on hand at all times during cold and flu season.
You know how we all have a little sign that alerts us to the fact that we are most likely coming down with something? That is when you will take Ferr Phos - at the very first sign of a fever, cold or flu. Ferr Phos should be taken within the first 24-48 hours of symptoms, stopping after 48 hours. This guy has saved me from many near misses already this season. Ferr Phos is an oxygen carrier and can also help with Inflammation, nerves, hemoglobin, hemorrhages, fatigue, nosebleeds, and it helps with wound healing.
For anyone that may be anemic (low circulating iron in the blood) but with high ferritin levels – this is a great salt to take. When ferritin levels are high but you are anemic, it means the body is taking in iron but it does not absorb it. High ferritin levels in the body is dangerous – think of it as the body “rusting”.
In this case, you would take Ferr Phos and rotate it with the tissue salt Calc Phos which I will cover in the weeks to come.
In an acute situation that is severe such as a nosebleed, nerve pain, hemorrhage or high fever, as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 30-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside. You can give children 1-2 tablets and infants 1 tablet. In an acute moderate situation such as oncoming cold or flu, cough or bearable pain, you would take 2-3 tablets every 2-3 hours until symptoms subside.
Repeat according to the severity of the symptoms. Stop on improvement. Repeat as needed.
You can also take tissue salts in chronic conditions – lets use the anemia example. In this case you would take 2-3 tablets, 2-3x per day for 5 weeks, or you can even finish the full bottle. Taking little breaks is important so the body does not develop a tolerance. In this situation, you would take the tissue salt either for 5 days on with 2 days off, or for 3 weeks on with one week off over many months.

]]>The cell salt Potassium Chloride or Kali Mur is the mineral for sluggish conditions. Kali Mur molecules are "the principal agents used in the chemistry of life to build fibrin into the human organism".[1] Fibrin is the building block for connective tissue. When the molecules of Kali Mur drop, the blood fibrin thickens causing mucus congestion, pleurisy pneumonia, fibroid tumours, croup, and diphtheria. A thickening of blood fibrin can also cause heart failure due to the excess lumps of fibrin clogging the auricles and ventricles of the heart. Biochemistry has discovered that these symptoms are due to a deficiency in the potash molecules that work with fibrin, to diffuse it throughout the organism and build it into tissue.
In conditions calling for Kali Mur, the blood tends to thicken and form clots. The tongue, mucus lining or tonsils may have a white or gray coating, and the mucous or phlegm will be thick and white.
Kali Mur is needed in the treatment of inflammatory diseases, particularly those affecting respiration – colds, coughs, sore throats, tonsilitis, bronchitis, and it is great for children’s ailments such as chicken pox, mumps, measles, scarlet fever, and croup. Kali Mur also aids in the production of hydrochloric acid which is essential for digestion.
Kali Mur is a great remedy for burns as it helps form new fibrin and supplies the deficiency. In the case of a burn, I would suggest taking it both internally and forming a paste to put on the burn.
While #4 Ferr Phos helps with inflammation at the first sign of a cold, #5 Kali Mur helps during the 2nd stage of colds. It is excellent for ear inflammation, eye inflammation with a thick, white mucus discharge, headaches when there is a thick, white coating on the tongue, stuffy noses with thick, white discharge, cankers in the mouth, toothaches with swelling of the gums, and sore throats that have visible white or grey patches.
A detoxifying agent, Kali Mur will also help break up blood clots, is helpful with allergies, morning sickness in pregnancy when the vomit is a white phlegm, mastitis, cystitis, circulatory organs (heart palpitations), rheumatism, swelling of feet and legs, and is helpful with swollen lymph nodes and swollen glands. It will help strengthen the lungs and break up and prevent blood clots. This is a great post-covid tissue salt to take to bring the lungs back to health.
There are some facial signs to look for in a Kali Mur deficiency. There will be a milky appearance to the skin that appears on the skin under the eyebrows and around the eye sockets. A milk moustache can appear over the upper lip or extend to cover the entire cheek. A milky-reddish colouring, 2-3 mm thick may appear under the lower eyelid or on the upper eyelid. A milky-bluish colour 2-3 mm thick may appear on the upper eyelid. There may be milky-purplish colouring. There may be some acne rosacea with spider veins. There may be a chicken-skin appearance on the upper arms or other areas. [2]
In an acute situation that is severe such as a cough, cold, or sore throat, as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 30-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside.
You can also take tissue salts to treat chronic conditions. With a chronic condition, such as rheumatism, blood clots or allergies, you would take 2-3 tablets, 2-3x per day for 5 weeks, or you can even finish the full bottle. Taking little breaks is important so the body does not develop a tolerance. In this situation, you would take the tissue salt either for 5 days on with 2 days off, or for 3 weeks on with one week off over many months.
When taking tissue salts, tip the tablets into the lid and drop them into your mouth. Avoid touching the cap to your mouth. It is also important to try to avoid food for 10-20 mins before and after taking the salts and take away from coffee or mint products as it will not be properly absorbed.

Kali Phos is also helpful in the treatment of shingles, in nervous asthma, poor dental health, ear-humming, sciatica and hoarseness from overexertion of the voice. Kali Phos would be useful with wasting diseases of tissue, gangrenous conditions, offensive discharges, and dry, scaly tissues that lack vitality. This list is not exhaustive!
There are some facial signs to look for in someone with a Kali Phos deficiency. These people would have a slight ash gray appearance most often seen on the chin, temples, lower eyelids, and outer corner of the eyes. They would have sunken temples, loss of skin elasticity and shape, and hollow eyes. Due to the digestive issues of a Kali Phos deficiency, these people could have bad breath. [1]

]]>Potassium Sulfate, also known as sulphate of potash or Kali Sulph, is the maker and distributor of oil. When there is a deficiency of Kali Sulph, the oil in the human body becomes too thick and clogs the pores. Kali Sulph is found in our skin and in considerable quantities in scalp and hair.
WHAT IS KALI SULPH GOOD FOR?
Kali Sulph is helpful with:
Kali Sulph will help cold symptoms that have yellow, slimy discharges or watery greenish matter. Kali Sulph alongside Ferrum Phos is useful in the early stages of a cold.
WHAT ISSUES DOES A KALI SULPH DEFICIENCY CAUSE?
A lack of this salt in the body can cause rheumatic pains in the joints that shift and wander, sinusitis, psoriasis, asthma, inflammatory conditions of the respiratory tract like bronchitis or bronchial asthma (with yellow-greenish, slimy discharge), and cystitis with yellow discharge.
FACIAL SIGNS OF DEFICIENCY:
Some facial signs of deficiency are: (1)
PAY ATTENTION TO CHANGES IN SYMPTOMS
Things that make your symptoms feel better or worse are a good way to determine if this salt is the one for you. With a Kali Sulph deficiency, symptoms are generally worse in the evening, with consolation, after eating and with noise. Symptoms are better when walking, in cool, open air, and while fasting.

]]>Think pain remedy or "natures aspirin" with Mag Phos as it is quick to relieve pain particularly cramping, shooting, darting or spasmodic pains. Known as the anti-spasmodic tissue salt, Mag Phos is found chiefly in the white fibres of nerves and muscles and when a deficiency of Mag Phos occurs, the white nerve fibres contract, causing spasms and cramps.
Mag Phos is excellent for:
It’s also great at helping with addiction issues.
Mag Phos has cured cases of chorea (involuntary limb movement) and is helpful with all heart problems caused by distention of the cardiac portion of the stomach. Dr. Broerick, one of the lead homeopathic physicians of the Pacific Coast, says "Magnesia Phosphate is a magnificent remedy in all spasmodic diseases".
There are some facial signs to look for in someone with a Mag Phos deficiency. These people would have a red appearance that may come and go with emotions or in times of tension or stress. Red spots can appear anywhere on the upper chest, cheeks and neckline. These spots are most often seen in women. Some people turn red after eating - this can either be a Mag Phos deficiency or be a colon weakness and indicate a Ferr Phos deficiency. If the back of the hand is hot, then it is a Ferr Phos deficiency. (1)
In an acute situation that is severe such as menstrual, stomach or muscle cramps, nerve pains, toothache, colic, headaches with shooting, darting or spasmodic pains, spasmodic coughing, etc. as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 15-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside. You can give children 1-2 tablets and infants 1 tablet. In an acute moderate situation that is more bearable, you would take 2-3 tablets every 2-3 hours until symptoms subside.
Repeat according to the severity of the symptoms. Stop on improvement. Repeat as needed.

]]>Nat Mur (Sodium Chloride) is the mineral know as common table salt. In the body, this mineral absorbs water and controls the proper balance of the body's fluids to maintain a proper degree of moisture throughout the system. Nat Mur is essential for cell division and normal growth. Excessive dryness or moisture is an indication of a Nat Mur deficiency. Another important function of Nat Mur is the production of hydrochloric acid.
Water makes up over 70% of the body and If this water distributer is broken by way of a deficiency, too much water will appear in some areas with/and/or a lack of water or dryness at others. In the case of sunstroke, a deficiency in Nat Mur allows the moisture to be drawn from other parts of the body (especially the nape of the neck), and causes a pressure against the base of the brain, producing dangerous results. Nat Mur will act quickly to relieve this condition. *
Other conditions that Nat Mur supports are:
Nat Mur will also help hydrate cells, the lungs and the brain.
There are some facial signs to look for in someone with a Nat Mur deficiency. These people would have a moist appearance on the upper eyelid and a gelatinous shine in the eyelash area of the lower eyelid with large pores around the eyes. There would be salt deposits in the lower eyelashes. They could have an inflamed eyelid border, large pores on the nose and possibly also large pores on the cheeks, chin or forehead. There would be dry skin and dandruff, sometimes with a greasy forehead and the face could have a bloated or spongy appearance. A person with a Nat Mur deficiency could sweat too much or too little and if there is redness on the hair border of their forehead this is a sign of a long standing deficiency. [1]
Things that make your symptoms feel better or worse are a good way to determine if this salt is the one for you. With a Nat Mur deficiency, symptoms are generally worse between 9-11am, with sun, heat, physical exertion, talking, writing, reading and with noise and music. Symptoms are better with sweating, rest, in open air, fasting and with deep breathing.
In an acute situation that is severe such as clear eye, nasal or sinus discharge, sneezing, or sunstroke, as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 15-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside. You can give children 1-2 tablets and infants 1 tablet. In an acute moderate situation that is more bearable, you would take 2-3 tablets every 2-3 hours until symptoms subside.
Repeat according to the severity of the symptoms. Stop on improvement. Repeat as needed.
You can also take tissue salts to treat chronic conditions. With a chronic condition, such as treating high blood pressure, depression, water balancing, dryness, bloating, or eczema etc, you would take 2-3 tablets, 2-3x per day for 5 weeks, or you can even finish the full bottle. Taking little breaks is important so the body does not develop a tolerance. In this situation, you would take the tissue salt either for 5 days on with 2 days off, or for 3 weeks on with one week off over many months.

]]>Sodium Phosphate or Nat Phos, is an alkaline salt made from bone ash and it acts like a water distributor in the body. Nat Phos affects our mucus membranes, bile ducts, nerves, stomach, intestines, and the lymphatic system and a deficiency will cause digestive issues, gout, heartburn, swollen glands, joint pain, acidity conditions, candida, acne, blackheads, hypoglycemias, sugar cravings and a sour smell. Nat Phos is often thought of as a homeopathic antacid.
There are some facial signs to look for in someone with a Nat Phos deficiency. The face will have yellowish, sunken and bloated appearance. There would be a fatty, shiny appearance to the skin with pores that appear open. There would be blackheads due to increased sweating on the face, hanging cheeks, a double chin, and a red nose with blotchy red skin. The tongue could have a golden, yellow, creamy coating at the back. [1]
Things that make your symptoms feel better or worse are a good way to determine if this salt is the one for you. With a Nat Phos deficiency, symptoms are generally worse with the ingestion of milk or sugar, during menses, increased mental activity, during thunderstorms and sex. Symptoms are better with pressure, and in the cold and open air.
In an acute situation that is severe such as morning sickness, acidic diarrhea or vomiting, green secretions, inflamed throat with a creamy, yellow coating as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 15-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside. You can give children 1-2 tablets and infants 1 tablet. In an acute moderate situation that is more bearable, you would take 2-3 tablets every 2-3 hours until symptoms subside.

]]>A cleanser and eliminator, Silica is found in the hair, skin, nails, periosteum, and nerve sheath, and a trace amount is found in bone tissue. Silica will help push things out of the body and break up pathological accumulations - think pus, boils, slivers, planter warts, and styes. It is a great treatment for tonsillitis when pus has formed on the tonsils. Nails that are brittle, soft, weak that split, or hair that has lost its shine or brittle with split ends will benefit from Silica.
There are some facial signs to look for in someone with a Silica deficiency. These folks may have burst veins in the whites of the eyes, have a shine to the face (seen frequently on the forehead near the hairline), wrinkles in the corners of the eyes, on the forehead and cheeks and in front of and parallel to the ears. They will also have vertical lines above the upper lip, deep laugh lines and crow's feet, and shrunken upper eyelids and/or eye orbits. [1]
In an acute situation that is severe such as a toothache, tonsillitis, with pus formation, painful mastitis or inflammation of the skin with a yellow discharge as an adult you would want to take 2-3 tablets every 30-60 minutes until the pain or symptoms subside.
